Latest Updates JEE Main Entrance Exam 2014 :

The given article has been updated as per latest changes mentioned in JEE Main 2014 notification by CBSE. See HERE for all the latest updates regarding JEE. Given below are the changes imbibed:
1. The last date to send the JEE 2014 application form is 26 December 2013.
2. Unlike previous years, candidates can apply for the exam through only ON-LINE mode.
3. Eligibility criteria for the rest of the India candidates would be applied for candidates belonging to Odisha and Maharashtra who will be taking the JEE Main 2014 exam this time.
4. All the documents/certificates have to submitted by uploading scanned images while filling the form. NO DOCUMENT must be sent via post to the JEE Main office.

About Exam :

JEE Main 2014 Entrance Exam is the leading entrance exam in the country which is a gateway to undergraduate admission in numerous best graded engineering colleges and it would be conducted on 6 April 2014 (offline mode). Also called as Joint Entrance Examination, it’s taken by thousands of candidates who aspire to obtain a seat in premier institutes including NITs. JEE is conducted at two levels called as Main and Advanced. Former is meant for NITs and other colleges while the latter is attempted exclusively for IITs. To qualify for JEE Advanced, candidates must score well in JEE Mains to be included in the merit list. Given below are the details of JEE Main 2014 for candidates to refer.

Overview of the JEE Main 2014 Exam :

• Name of the exam : Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)

• Date of exam : 6 Apr 2014 (offline) and April first week to last week, 2014 (online)

• Formerly known as : AIEEE

• Participating institutes : NITs, Other self funded and government funded colleges

• Exam competitive level : National

• Exam category : Undergraduate

• Conducting body : CBSE (Joint Apex Board)

• Exam conducting mode : Online, Offline

• Type of questions : Multiple choice questions (MCQ)

JEE Main 2014 Eligibility Criteria :

• Candidate should have qualified Class XII examination or its equivalent in 2012/2013.

• If a candidate is appearing in the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2014, he/she may appear
  as well in the JEE Main 2014 Entrance Exam provisionally.

• If the candidates has passed qualifying exam in 2010 or before, he/she is ineligible.

• Maximum three attempts is allowed for each candidate.

• The birth date of candidate must be on or after 1 October 1989 (5 years relaxation for SC/ST/PwD i.e. 1 October 1984).

• Candidates belonging to states of Maharashtra and Odisha, who will be taking the JEE 2014 Exam have to follow the same criteria as mentioned for the rest of the India candidates. Age limit for the same, would be considered as per past practice.

JEE Main 2014 Selection Process :

JEE Main 2014 Score and normalized marks of Class XII (or equivalent) would be implemented in 60:40 ratio respectively to calculate the All India Rank (AIR Rank).

JEE Main 2014 Reservation of Seats :

The cutoff marks for reserved categories will be decided by the exam board. It will include relaxed minimum
marks criteria that must be achieved to be featured in the final merit list. Following is the cutoff from JEE Main
of previous year for special category candidates :

 JEE Main 2014 Exam Pattern :

Following is the exam pattern of JEE Main. It must be noted that for every wrong answer, ¼ marks will be deducted from the candidate’s credit while every correct answer will get him/her 1 mark.

 JEE Main 2014 Application Form Filling Instructions :

• Open the official website to fill the form: www.jeemain.nic.in.

• Go through the prescribed instructions to avoid errors.

• Fill the application form, supplied with correct and complete details.
• Upload scanned images of appropriate signatures, latest colored photos and thumb impressions wherever necessary in the space provided.

• Check the JEE Main 2014 Application Form in its details before submitting.

• Submit the form fee via any of the available modes (credit card, debit card or E-Callahan).

• Generate a printout of acknowledgment slip and preserve it.

Application Form status can be tracked by entering application number on the tracker login on official site: www.jeemain.nic.in. Forms which are successfully received shall display “received” else “not received”.
